Supporting Youth Health & Well-Being
The health and well-being of our students is a shared priority. Mission Public Schools has partnered with Fraser House and Fraser Health to offer programs that provide a safe space and encourage open dialogue about vaping, cigarettes, and tobacco.
We recognize that many parents have questions and concerns. The resources are designed to support families in supporting their children in making informed decisions and promoting healthy choices.
π I Quit 4 Me
A Health Canada program for youth ready to quit vaping, smoking, or using tobacco. The program focuses on helping students actively trying to quit vaping, but some conversations extend beyond.
π Healthy Schools Ambassador Program: Vaping Education & Awareness
Become a voice for change. Share your story. Support your peers. This program allows students from leadership classes at Heritage Park and Hatzic Middle schools - of whom some quit vaping - to educate their younger peers at the elementary level. Another program initiated and supported by Health Canada.
π Shake Not Vape
Our own MPSD programβmix smoothies, share stories, and talk openly about wellness beyond vaping. This program is offered at Hatzic Middle school and it provides the opportunity for students to make smoothies at lunchtime instead of vaping.
Questions? If you have questions about these programs, please click on the Vaping Cessation Brochure. The brochure includes links to additional resources and staff contact information.β
