Thank you for your willingness to support the district/your school with your time and energy. We welcome parent and community volunteers to participate in our school life and culture, and look forward to building a warm, welcoming community at your school. School volunteers provide a valuable contribution to the successful operation of our school. The support that volunteers provide to our students has a direct and positive influence on their education.
While encouraging volunteer involvement, we are also committed to providing a safe, secure and caring environment for all our students.
To support this, we ask that volunteers complete the following:
- Please read the Volunteers in Schools Procedure, which explains the steps on how to obtain your criminal records check.
- Complete Criminal Records Check (through the online Criminal Records Review Program (CRRP), which is valid for 5 years.
Access Code: Please contact your school office for the access code.
Once complete, the results will be directly forwarded to our HR Department and then sent to the school.
In the online application, there are 2 ways to verify ID: BC Services Card App or Verify ID with the organization
If you (applicant) select to “verify your ID with the organization” in your application, YOU are responsible for providing HR with your ID to approve your application for processing. HR will not be following up with volunteer applications for ID verification. You can:
- Stop by the board office to have your ID photocopied for the CRC mailbox
- You can send a photo or scanned copy of your ID to HR at hr@mpsd.ca; OR
- The school administrative assistant can take a photocopy at the school and send it in the green mail bag to the CRC mailbox
- To volunteer, please fill out the Volunteer Application Form and submit it to the school office at the beginning of each school year.
- Complete the Volunteer Driver Form and submit it to the school office (optional, only for those who will offer to drive children)
