Why French Immersion?​

​Mission Public Schools offers an Early and Late French Immersion Program. For Early French Immersion, parents register their child(ren) beginning in Kindergarten. French Immersion is a Program of Choice. Some of the academic benefits include:

• The opportunity for students to become bilingual in English and French.
• Learning another language can enhance knowledge of English structures and vocabulary.
• A second language enhances cognitive functioning, especially “executive control" – the decision-making center of the brain.
• Bilingualism presents more opportunities for career advancement in comparison to unilingual peers
  

Schools offering our French Immersion Program are:

• École Christine Morrison Elementary School and École Mission Central Elementary School offer Elementary French Immersion programs.
• École Heritage Park Middle School offers the Middle French Immersion program.
• École Mission Secondary School offers a Secondary French Immersion program. ​
